View The Letterbox Project WA Road Trip in a larger map
As far as Aussie road trips go, we’ve done a few. Adelaide-Darwin, The Great Ocean Road, Bathurst-Melbourne… plenty around VIC, SA and some of NSW. The thing about adventuring is that you’re always thinking about the places you haven’t been, the next destination to tick off. We’ve been talking about WA ever since we lived in Darwin in 2011, and the time has come. We’re about to embark on a 10-day trip across WA and NT, from Perth to Darwin via the west coast and The Kimberley.
With generous support from Cheapa Campa, we’ll be hitting the road this weekend for 10 days and passing through some of the most scenic parts of the country. We can’t wait to meet the locals and their letterboxes, so keep an eye out if you’re in the area – we may just leave a postcard for you! Our itinerary can be found on the map above – 3500km of bitumen to cover and hopefully hundreds of great mail receptacles!
We’ll be road-tripping in total comfort too, in a 6-berth motorhome from Cheapa Campa. With a shower, toilet and kitchen on board – not to mention comfy beds and a perfect letterbox-spotting viewpoint from the main cabin – there will be more time for photos and less spent putting up tents and inflating air mattresses. Yeehah!
